What is MASCED Accreditation?

MASCED (Melanoma and Skin Cancer Early Detection) Accreditation is a training programme produced and developed by national skin cancer and melanoma awareness charity SKCIN. This nationally recognised programme trains holistic health, hair and beauty professionals to recognise and spot the early signs and symptoms of melanoma and skin cancers. This training course also equips us health, beauty and and wellness professionals with the tools to provide advice on sun safety and prevention of skin cancers, and to be able to confidently signpost our clients to take appropriate action.

As a complementary and holistic therapist who provides massage treatments, I'm uniquely placed to spot the early signs and symptoms of both melanoma and skin cancer.

Through this MASCED accredited training, I've had the opportunity to learn all about the different types of skin cancer and more importantly how to recognise and detect any abnormalities that may be cause for concern. While my role is such cases is not to diagnose, the in-depth knowledge that I've gained on completing this accreditation programme enables me, as a therapist, to recognise the signs and symptoms, raise awareness, encourage action and potentially save lives.
